Under a
variety of guises Bill and Jimmy have both collaborated with other
communicators and produced some superb sounds. As mentioned earlier
Jimmy was one half of The Orb with Alex Paterson. Together they
pioneered remixing and released their own material, most notably the
single A Huge Ever Growing Pulsating Brain That Rules At The Centre Of
The Ultraworld. Since their split in 1990 they appear to have patched
things up and are rumoured to be working together again. Jimmy has been remixing under the name The Scourge Of The Earth
with artists as diverse as The Black Dog, Marilyn Manson, Hawkwind and
Black Star Liner. He also teamed up with Guy Pratt in 1999 as Solid Gold
Chartbusters to release I Wanna 1-2-1 With You. Jimmy is reputed to
have recorded an album of experimental sounds as Advanced Acoustic
Armaments and a fax received by Melody Maker suggested an intended
performance of 'Foghorns of The Northern Hemisphere' by The Triple A
Formation Attack Ensemble. [More of this to come!]
Although Bill
has been more engaged with his literary interests his collaboration with
long time friend and fellow Zenarchist Mark Manning (aka Zodiac
Mindwarp) did give rise to a series of 6 limited edition (500 copies
only) 7" singles released on Kalevala Records. The singles form the
soundtrack to their book Bad Wisdom which is an account of their
journey, along with top mate Alan Goodrick (aka Gimpo), from Finland to
the Arctic Circle and back to plant an icon of Elvis at the North Pole.
Although an album was reportedly planned this was never released. The
three friends have been on other adventures from which it is to be hoped
that further books and sounds may flow. In 1999 Bill, credited as Tenzing Scott-Brown, narrated the lyrics on the title track of Skyray's beautiful album Mind Lagoons.
The above is by no means exhaustive however we will endeavour to keep you advised
