The JAMS

The Justified Ancients of Mu Mu, according to Wilson & Shea's novel "The Illuminatus! Trilogy", were a group of ancient Atlantians sworn and bitter enemies of the Illuminati. They worked to bring chaos and disorder and ultimately the collapse of World Order.
Bill and Jimmy took this name for their group and in 1987 recorded their first record JAMS 23 - All You Need Is Love. The original white label was a huge club track but it had to be edited to conform with copyright restrictions before its commercial release. The media attention exploded following a series of high profile billboard attacks one of which was pictured on the front cover of the 12" JAMS 23T.
Three months later The JAMS released their debut album JAMS LP1 - 1987 What The Fuck's Going On?. It continued their pioneering work with sampling technology, mixing snatched sequences from TV clips & other artists records with their own rhythms, beats, breaks and lyrics. The music press loved it but one of the tracks caused the MCPS to insist the album be withdrawn and destroyed. The track in question, The Queen & I, had heavily sampled ABBA's song Dancing Queen. ABBA refused to consent to its use and even refused to meet Bill and Jimmy when they drove to Stockholm to discuss the matter. Needless to say that with all the media coverage any copies of JAMS LP1 that had escaped destruction were changing hands for more than £50 a piece.
Between then and 1991 The JAMS released two further albums JAMS LP2 - Who Killed The JAMS and JAMS DLP3 - Shag Times. Singles followed as well:
JAMS 24 - Whitney Joins The JAMS
     JAMS 25 - 1987 The Edits
JAMS 26 - Burn The Beat
     JAMS 27 - Downtown
     JAMS 28 - It's Grim Up North
Many of these tracks were released in Limited Edition formats creating a very collectable back catalogue and building upon the urban myth, media acclaim and a notoriety for courting controversy The JAMS maintained serious respect within the underground music scene.
As if The JAMS were not enough Bill and Jimmy also recorded, at the same time, under a number of other aliases the most prolific of which was The KLF.
